An output of 0.75mA indicates normal speed (100%) while 1mA indicates 133% of nominal speed. The calibration point can easily be user adjusted. Three setpoint control adjustments allow setting of the desired speed limits for cracking. Under speed and over speed. Cranking Relay : Will detect if the engine is running or stopped. This relay can be used to ensure the cranking Motor is disconnected, once the engine has started running. Set the cranking setpoint just above the cranking motor speed. A red LED illuminates when the relay is energised, indicating a trip condition. Under speed Relay : Will detect when the normal running speed has been achieved. This can be used to enable the generator’s electrical protection. It can also be used to trigger load shedding. A red LED illuminates when an under speed condition exists. Over speed Relay : Will detect when a stuck throttle or over shoot, and can be used to shut down the engine. A red LED indicates over speed trip. Fail safe operation : The relay Will detect an open circuit speed sensor, and de – energise the over - speed relay.

Product FunctionMPR is a phase failure relay operating on negative sequence voltage sensing principle. It offers protection against.

* Phase sequence reversal condition
* Phase failure condition.
* Unbalanced voltage condition MPR is an auxiliary relay and it should be used along with the motor starter only. The effective working of MPR will depend on efficient working of electromagnetic motor starter. Before installing MPR check whether the motor starter is operating perfectly by starting the motor with "START" push button and switching it off by "OFF" push button. If motor does not "START" or "STOP" on respective operations, the starter needs to be serviced. Do not install MPR with faulty motor starter.Trip Setting: Relay can be set to trip the starter for any unbalance voltage between 30 V to 70 V 9V between any two phases. Time Delay: MPR offers sufficient Trip time delay of 3 - 4 Sec. for all, Phase Sequence, Phase Loss and Phase unbalance conditions, to prevent nuisance tripping and hence protects motor. Reset: The relay can be set in Auto reset or manual & remote reset mode by removing or putting a short link between terminal 11 & 12. Relay can be remotely reset by extending the remote reset push button provided on terminal 10 & 11 (Use continuous cable at max. distance of 100 meters) Relay will reset if unbalance voltage is reduced to less than 20 V between all three phases.

Principle of operation The input current is fed through a resistor and the resultant voltage is compared with a preset reference voltage from the set point potentiometer. Any voltage difference forms a command signal which is fed via an amplifier to double pole changeover relay. As standard, the relay energises at high set point on a rising signal and de - energises at low set point on a falling signal.

Principle of Operation

The generator voltage provides the power supply for the relay energising circuit and phase reference for the phase sensitive detector. Current reference to the detector is taken from generator load current The output from the detector is compared with a reference which is set by the trip set point potentiometer. * Auto / Manual Reset Priciple of operation The protector comprises a voltage level detector which detects the voltage across the thermistor. At normal temperature, when the thermistor resistance is low, a command signal energises a change - over relay and a green LED showing ‘safe’ condition. At a pre - determined temperature, the thermistor resistance increases rapidly, which de - energises the relay. The actual trip temperature is governed by the thermistor characteristic, which can be obtained from the manufactuer’s data. Failure of the supply to the unit or open circuit in thermistor winding will cause the relay to de-energise, thereby providing a failsafe facility.
